Sunny day, blue skies, a nice breeze, a good work crew.... ahhhh, it is a perfect day to be on the roof. Last Saturday felt a lot like the barn raising scene from the movie, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." All of the guys were on the roof and all of us women were in the house making "viddles." There were only two things missing, first was the line dance, second was the fistfight that breaks out. ;)
Joanna and Curtiss' barn was in need of a new roof so a couple of the families from our church joined us out in S---- on Saturday to get the roof put on before Curtiss and Joanna cross "the big pond" as they call it.
The new roof was a lovely color green that gave the barn a whole new look.
Joel looks like he is about to use the roof as a big slide.
Enjoying the "Viddles" i.e. Cinnamon rolls and Lemonade
Mr. G... working very hard, or at least he looks like he is... ;)
Hanging out as the work day comes to a close
The younger boys spent there day on the back of this little wagon being pulled around by Zack. They did an awesome job getting all the sticks and pine cones picked up out of the yard.
After we were done cooking the snacks, Joanna and I sat on the porch working on starting our tans and painting our toe nails. lol
Curtiss our host, he kept himself so busy I never was able to get a good picture of him on my camera.
And our beautiful and charming hostess, who kept all of the guys hydrated and fed.

(nice apron) ;)
what a fun day. Thanks everybody!!!!
The barn looks great!
Hooray! As ever, I love pictures! I almost wish there was a way to leave comments after every picture because I had a thought after each one...lol
Something like, wow, Dad looks like he's having fun... Nice hat, Elise... looks like you had some observers of the whole project sitting in lawn chairs... Zach must have had a blast driving the lawn mower... And I really like Joanna's apron!
Oh, and btw...the line dance would have been a fun addition to the festivities... lol You just need to get the boys dressed in button up shirts of every hue and brightness...purple, red, blue, green, yellow... you get the picture! hahaha... I doubt that would have gone over well... but you might have tempted them with a fist fight....
LOL Rachel!!! It is very funny thinking about certain people hitting certain other people... ;) The only thing is, is if we copy the movie the whole barn would have to fall down! lol
It would have been very interesting if a fistfight broke out!! And I couldn't picure any of the boys in those outfits they wore in the movie!! LOL! Dad certainly does look like he is having fun and I am very glad that Joel did not use the roof as a big slide!! I was going to say that I liked your hat too!lol
Did anyone win a cow at the end of the day?
